This is the story of the siege at Terminal City.  Written by Webmaster Brin.

The Siege by Brin (rated PG-13 to R)

After "Freak Nation," we ware left with a siege between the Ordinaries and Transgenics and lots of questions.  Inside the ominous perimter fence, Terminal City, sometimes referred to as the City of New Hope, is filled with hundreds of transgenics, all of them trained killers...

...and Max is faced with a decision: war...or death?  The choice seems to be made for her, however, when the once-dormant threat of Manticore awakens once again, this time with a whole new kind of transgenic, called the Centurions.

Faster, stronger, and smarter, the Centurions are the ultimate X-killing machines.  They are designed to work alone.  They are designed to follow orders.  They are the perfect soldiers, even more so than the Xs... Led by Colonel Briggs, whose stone heart and bloody hands have made him the most successful officer in the field of training the Centurions to kill without feeling, the Centurions show no mercy and warrant the death of all transgenics unlike them.  All it takes is a simple word from Colonel Briggs and they are willing to slaughter men, women, and children without a second thought.

It seems the only way to kill a Centurion is to overwhelm them by sheer numbers, but the casualties of this strategy are staggering and the transgenics lose faith.  Not to mention the presence of the Familiars and the possibility of a Familiar/Manticore alliance.  Can Max defend Terminal City against this new threat without letting all her kind be destroyed in the process?
